CASA For Clermont Kids! is a
CASA/GAL (Court Appointed Special Advocate/Guardian Ad
Litem) program |
|
● |
We are a non-profit children's
advocacy program for children who find themselves in the
court system because of what their parents/guardians did to
them (physical and/or sexual abuse, neglect and dependency |
 |
|
● |
Our program is one of over 930
nationally who boast over 70,000 volunteers |
|
● |
Our program began in 1998,
successfully grew and incorporated in 2001 |
|
● |
Casa For Clermont Kids! is
approved and endorsed by Clermont County Juvenile Court |
|
● |
Casa For Clermont Kids! is
recognized as a "Certified" agency by the
National CASA
Association and the
Ohio CASA/GAL Association; operating at
the highest level of advocacy and business practices |
|
● |
Since August, 1998, our program has
served 215 abused, neglected and dependent children in
Clermont County - the county will see approximately 350 of
those children this year |
|
● |
When a child is determined by
Juvenile Court to be a victim of their parent's abuse or
neglect or are dependent, a CASA/GAL is appointed to the case
to objectively research and present factual, documented
information at court hearings, which determines permanence
and the best, most secure and safest placement for that
child |
|
● |
CASA/GALs are volunteers who are
ordinary people at least 21 years old. They receive
extensive training; cannot have a criminal record; and are
sworn in by the Juvenile Court Judge to serve as Guardians
Ad Litem (through final disposition of the child's case) |
|
● |
The CASA/GAL functions with the
authority of the court to obtain information and records
about the child, such as medical records, school
transcripts, psychiatric, psychological and social worker's
evaluations, employment and residency verification of
the parents, statements from neighbors, relatives and
others, and requests court records from other venues outside
Clermont County |

The Duffel Bag Program began in
April, 1999 and was established to provide all foster
children of Clermont County with new duffel bags to replace
transportation of belongings in garbage bags. There
are approximately 450 foster children annually. This
campaign is ongoing and fully supported financially by
donation |

Through the generosity of musician David Blowers, we present
his musical composition "The
Innocents", in support of the victims of child abuse.
